About Us

We as a family have been involved in mission work for the past twenty five years, first as part of the work of Moreson Mission in the Western Cape South Africa and later in Onseepkans, Northern Cape South Africa.

In July / August 2011 we experienced the leading of God to move to Onseepkans in the Northern Cape, on the border between South Africa and Namibia. In October 2011 we pulled up our roots at Moreson Mission and moved as family to Onseepkans. Onseepkans is a small but unique settlement on the banks of the Orange River in the Northern Cape Province. It is about 60 km north of Pofadder at the border crossing between South Africa and Namibia.

The area is arid and very hot, with summer temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius and winter temperatures in the early 30’s.

The economic sector of Onseepkans comprise mainly of agricultural activities, 370 ha irrigation plots with mainly raisin and export grape farming. Some of the members of the local communities also work at the nearby solar farms or the mines, a bit further away. Many community members have a few goats, which are somewhat like an investment to them.  A big percentage of the community relies on government grants to survive.

Since our coming to Onseepkans, through our contact with the community, we came to realize the spiritual and practical needs of the people. One such practical need is the need for the availability of fresh bread, and in 2021 we started a bakery to supply the community with fresh bread.

There is also a great need for the availability of fresh vegetables. We started with vegetable farming to try and supply that need.

Some of the school children come to us for help with their schoolwork. We also try to address the need for after school academic help.

We started with date farming to generate income for our mission, as well as to create jobs for the community.

We are not a church and do not work under a specific denomination, but we strive to bring people in the right relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. It is our desire that once people are helped, that they will go back to their churches and make a difference.

Please pray for us that we will experience God’s leading how to help the community in a spiritual and practical way.
